We usually pay little attention to cleaning the tank in which water is stored. Over time, sediments and algae or bacteria form on the walls, roof and floor of these tanks. These compounds gradually lower the quality of the contained water and after a period of formation, algae and bacteria contaminate the water and cause various diseases.
Cleaning plastic water tanks is vital and should be done at least once a year. Of course, this also depends on the initial quality of the water. If the hardness of the water and its dissolved solid particles is high, more sediments are formed at the same rate and sometimes it is necessary to clean the tank several times a year.
Here we are going to discuss 2 simple methods for cleaning water tanks:
• If the inside of the water tank is not accessible:
              Necessary supplies:
                       Javal water (same as Vitex)
1. Fill the tank with water.
2. Make a mixture of water and Vitex in the proportion of one spoon of Vitex in 3.5 liters of water. (Vitex with 5% chlorine)
3. To disinfect pipes and valves, leave them fully open until you feel the smell of chlorine; Then close the valves again.
4. Leave the tank in the same position for 12 hours.
5. After 12 hours, empty the tank completely and then fill it again with clean water.

• If you have access to the inside of the water tank, you can wash the tank in a better way:
Necessary supplies:
                  Javal water (same as Vitex)
Dishwashing wire or Scotch and suitable cleaning brush
                Home car wash pump
1. Empty the tank of water.
2. Clean the inner walls with scotch or dishwashing wire or a cleaning brush.
3. Then wash the inner walls with car wash water pressure.
4. Make a mixture of Vitex and water at the ratio of one spoon of Vitex in 3.5 liters of water (Vitex with 5% chlorine).
5. Smear the inside of the tank with this mixture using scotch tape, dishwashing wire or a cleaning brush and leave it for 2 hours.
6. After 2 hours, wash the inside of the tank completely with car wash water pressure and then drain it completely.
7. Refill the tank with clean water.

Safety warning when using Javal water, due to the presence of chlorine gas, you must be very careful and under no circumstances should you remain inside the closed tank when using this type of compound.
