Methods to prevent freezing of reservoir, source and water tanker
1- Use of larger water tanks
This is a simple solution. A larger volume of water inside the tank, compared to a smaller volume of water, requires more time to freeze. When the water tank is filled with water again, the water that entered the tank has a higher temperature than the previous water, so it takes more time to freeze. Of course, this solution requires regular consumption of tank water and its replacement with newly filled water.
2- Use of round water tanks
Tanks with a flat surface may freeze gradually. Mainly, rainwater remaining on the tank causes the temperature of the water inside the tank to drop, and this accelerates the freezing of the water in the tank. The sloping and round cover or cover for the water tank prevents the formation of ice on the upper surface of the tank and therefore the water in the tank stays a little warmer.
3- Ensuring the insulation of the water tank
If you want to prevent water tanks from freezing in winter, it is necessary to insulate them.
A good and suitable insulation should cover the tank from both sides and from the top, prevent heat loss inside the tank and keep it warm enough to prevent the tank from freezing. Many vendors sell special tank insulation along with their tanks.
4- Avoid insulating the bottom of the tank
It is true that insulating the tank is important, but it is better to avoid insulating the bottom of the tank so that excess heat escapes through the bottom of the tank.
5- Use of water heating system
In order to always keep the water temperature above the freezing point, you can use the water heating system. This system can be a simple small electric heater that is placed in the water or a more advanced heating system that is connected to the walls of the tank.
6- Check the pipes for water leakage control
Any leakage from the pipes close to the tank can accelerate the process of reducing the heat inside the tank and the gradual freezing of the water inside the tank. Therefore, carefully checking the leakage of pipes and repairing the smallest one can be a good solution to prevent the freezing of tank water.
7- Keep the water moving
Moving water freezes faster than still water. If we don't want to use the water in the tank for a few days, the water in it must be kept in motion so that it does not freeze. The tank is missing.
Preventing tanks from freezing is much easier than dealing with frozen tanks. As you know, when water freezes, it expands and this causes pressure on the tank and as a result it breaks or creates cracks in the tank. Therefore, it is better to stay away from such troubles with a little care, foresight and by implementing some simple solutions.
